As some of you may know, my birthday is starting to roll around at about 50 miles per hour. Which means that I can almost smell my scanner printer. However, there is always a big stinky 30 day old teabag in the way.
My original plan of \"Not-telling-anyone-what-I-want-thus-they-give-me-money\" has begun backfiring on me. Apparently, people are guessing what I like because they don't have cash. And I'm using up my own money in order to give my friends their own birthday card money. So there may be a slight chance that I won't get the printer.
Then again, I've got the determination of a bull, and when I say I'm getting something, that means it's going to get into my possession one way or another. So I WILL have that printer.
Anyway, my grandmother came down early and gave me the gift I had wanted since summer:
Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
My friend Sam had let me borrow her game last summer as I usually do with the firsts of anything, I fell in love with it and had been set out to get it. My grandma isn't the best at hiding things (the day before she bought it, she called me up and asked if I 'maybe still wanted that Zelda game' in case she went to the store anytime soon) so it wasn't much of a surprise. But nonetheless I was happy.
The entire weekend she came over, I had the best time, as she is very funny and awesome. The only thing I possibly could have regretted was my slight mooching.
I've finally decided that I might want to pursue a career with drawing, or at least some kind of art.
So, knowing my grandmother's weakness towards me (I usually never ask for things unless they're school related) I stocked up on a few things. Thankfully however, my Dad paid for most of everything.
I got:
-An expansion folder to put my stuff in. Until now, they'd been in a discarded pocket divider. They were beginning to deteriorate and I wasn't gonna have any of that.
-Tons of writing utensils. Apparently my father used to take drafting classes. Seeing as how he wasn't doing that anymore, he was nice enough to give me his stuff from an old briefcase he'd kept it in. I got different sized pencils with lead and erasers.
The only things really bought were a few pens I'm gonna use for lineart-ing and a calligraphy pen. <--that I kinda feel bad for because I have no idea how to use it and simply just wanted it. I plan to put it to work though. The three dollars it costed my grandmother isn't going to go to waste.
So! I am going to be a very happy girl for a good while now. Thanks to Dad and Grandma. ^____^
Random Side story: While I was organizing my drawings, I think I might have actually thrown away a few pages of my art. As much as I cared about each one, the only one I really cared about was a small picture of a fox and deer together. My best friend Mo-chan and I had come up with the idea of our "inner animals" so I had decided to draw a cute picture of it. I really cared about that picture. When I found out I'd lost it, I cried for roughly an hour and a half. I thank my boyfriend TANK for making things better. I swear, the boy has this weird talent of giving one sentence of compassion, then completely taking your mind three miles away from your problem. It's ridiculous. *chu*
Well....that seems like the wrong story to place right after "I am going to be a very happy girl for a good while..." doesn't it.....
Lol.
